“I’m going to start off by saying, I don’t read much fantasy. That being said, the fantasy I DO read needs to have a strong heroine. Malinda Andrews definitely accomplished that with Riona. She’s tough, but still remains caring towards her family and friends.
My absolute favorite character is Feoras. The bond between Riona and her dragon is the best part of the book. I haven’t read any books about dragons, but I have a feeling this one is unique, especially their special bond. Not to mention, Feoras is hilarious. Some of their dialogue made me laugh out loud.
Last but not least, I enjoyed the author’s writing style. I was able to clearly picture everything because of her descriptions of the setting, characters, etc. My only criticism of this book is that sometimes I’d forget who was who and would need to flip back to remember. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes strong heroines, adventure stories, and funny dragons! I can’t wait to see where this series goes.”
